In the ID Verification process, the status of a request indicates where it is in the verification workflow. Below are the possible statuses and what each means for the requester and the invited user:
Status Definitions
New
Description: Most users won’t see this status. It signifies that the ID verification request has been successfully sent to the provider.
What Happens Next: The system awaits a response from the ID verification provider, transitioning to the following applicable status.
Wait
Description: This is the most common initial status seen by users. It means the system waits for the invited user to complete the verification process.
What Happens Next: The user must follow the invitation link and submit the required identification.
Declined
Description: The invited user started the verification process but cancelled before completing it.
Reattempts: Up to 3 attempts can be made to reprocess the ID verification before it becomes permanently unavailable. After this, the requester will need to resend the invitation.
What Happens Next: If the user wishes to proceed, the requester must resend the invitation.
Cancelled
Description: The requester’s side triggers this status. A cancellation occurs manually or when a new invitation is sent, which cancels the previous request.
What Happens Next: The requester can resend a new invitation, and the cancelled request will no longer be valid.
Failed
Description: This means the ID verification did not meet the criteria outlined by the business or Elite Hub, the handler of the ID verification system.
What Happens Next: The failure could be due to various reasons, such as incomplete or incorrect information provided by the user. The requester will need to review and decide on the next steps.
Done
Description: The ID verification process is complete. Even if the report shows some issues (e.g., minor discrepancies), the system did not deem them significant enough to fail the entire request.
What Happens Next: The requester or licensee must review any noted issues and decide whether the results are acceptable.
